Pulmonology Professional Community Webinar

When:  Jan 16, 2026 from 13:00 to 14:00 (ET)
Pulmonology Professional Community webinar discussing "Navigating the Complexities of Lung Transplantation in Connective Tissue Disease–Associated ILD" at 1:00 PM EST/6:00 PM UTC on Friday, 16 January, 2026.

Scientific Program

Session Summary:

Connective tissue disorder–associated interstitial lung disease (CTD-ILD) is an increasingly common indication for lung transplantation, yet it presents unique and multifaceted challenges across the transplant continuum. CTD-ILD patients often face significant multisystem involvement, including esophageal dysmotility, gastroesophageal reflux, pulmonary hypertension, renal impairment, and musculoskeletal limitations. Both achieving control of extrapulmonary autoimmune manifestations before transplant and maintaining it afterwards can be challenging. This webinar will explore the evolving landscape of CTD-ILD transplantation, highlighting advances in patient selection, surgical considerations, and post-transplant management.

Format:
Two talks followed by a Q&A.

Moderators:
Aida Venado, MD, UC San Francisco, San Francisco, CA, USA
